Cabbage Saves Worried Monkeys

A long time ago there was a monkey living in the jungle who couldn't stop worrying about the many dangers that lurked around him. He was so worried that he became unable to sleep, unable to eat, and was in danger of wasting away. One day, he was sitting on a tree branch, as he often did, when he became so fatigued that he lost consciousness and fell to the jungle floor. The fall jarred him back to reality and he open his eyes slowly, fully expecting to see a python or a cougar or something equally as horrible. Instead, he saw a head of cabbage. He stared at the cabbage for some time before the cabbage finally became impatient and introduced himself.

"Hello, Monkey. I am Cabbage."

The monkey rubbed his head and looked back in wonder at the talking vegetable. "How can you talk?," he asked. "Cabbage isn't supposed to be able to talk."

"Neither are monkeys, but you're talking," the cabbage replied.

"I suppose you have a point there. But, why are you in the jungle? I thought cabbage only grew in the temperate plains in medium to sandy soil."

"You should focus less on how I am here and more on why I am here," said the cabbage. "You have been far too worried lately, so much so that you are in danger from yourself more than anything else. I have come here to save you."

"You? Here to save me? But how? You're just a cabbage."

"And you're just a monkey. But this was the way that it is and the way it was always meant to be."
